The Clubhouse

This beautiful 2-story Queen Anne style house, built in 1884, was the original clubhouse for Asheville Cotton Mill. The house needs major work. The exterior must be restored to its original appearance, design guidelines apply. Contact Jerry Goldby by email or toll free at 866-258-3008. $88,000.

The house has an L- floor plan, front gable roof with decorative truss, front and rear porch, interior stuccoed chimney and original intact sawnwork frame. The property was owned by Asheville Cotton Mill from 1894 (when the C. E. Graham Manufacturing Company was reorganized as the Asheville Cotton Mill) until the mill began selling off its houses in 1944. It was then occupied by various families and lay vacant for several years, but by 1931 was being used as the Asheville Cotton Mill Community House or Clubhouse. Local residents still remember it as the bath house where, on alternating days, men and women bathed.
